The Office of Legal Affairs (LEG) supports the organization’s legal matters and ensures operations comply with internal rules, international law, and IOM’s constitution.

Job Overview

The Legal Intern will work remotely under the supervision of the Regional Legal Officer in the Bangkok Regional Office. The role involves supporting IOM’s legal functions on a wide range of in-house legal issues including contracts, international law, and IOM’s internal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support legal research and analysis on international law and IOM regulations
  • Assist with reviewing contracts and drafting legal advice
  • Prepare draft responses to basic legal inquiries
  • Assist in the preparation and review of legal documents and reports
  • Track and monitor legal cases and requests
  • Perform other assigned legal tasks

Qualification

  • Ongoing or completed degree in Law from an accredited institution
  • Experience or knowledge of UN or similar organizations is an asset
  • Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and independence
  • Good computer literacy
