In Thailand, IJM Foundation focuses on combating forced labor and labor trafficking by supporting local authorities and helping survivors rebuild their lives.

Job Overview

IJM Thailand is seeking a strategic and experienced communications professional to lead its media and communications work. The role involves developing and executing long-term media engagement strategies to support justice for migrant workers, amplify successful case outcomes, and increase political will for protection against forced labor and trafficking. This position reports to the Head of Advocacy and Community Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement media and communication strategies related to forced labor and migrant worker protection.
  • Pitch stories and secure media coverage in Thai and international outlets.
  • Draft media content such as articles, press statements, op-eds, and FAQs.
  • Serve as main contact for media inquiries and manage press at IJM events.
  • Track media coverage and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Produce storytelling content for digital platforms, website, and social media.
  • Align messaging with IJM’s global standards and safeguarding policies.
  • Support advocacy efforts through media campaigns and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media professionals and public figures.
  • Train IJM staff, partners, and survivor leaders in media engagement and storytelling.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in media, communications, or journalism.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with digital media platforms and tools.
  • Skills in photography, video shooting, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable to dynamic environments.
